Nanotechnology is a process where molecules are manipulated at the nanoscale level (1 nanometer = 10^-9 m). Assembling molecules at the molecular level imbues the material with unique structural and functional properties. These properties can then be used for specific medical applications such as the creation of novel compounds, site-specific drug delivery and high specificity diagnostics.
